The J. Kirk Felsman Program on Children in Adversity

The J. Kirk Felsman Program on Children in Adversity, launched at the Sanford School of Public Policy in 2013, merges documentary and policy disciplines to better serve and advocate for vulnerable children globally. The program ran from 2013-2015 and supported two cohorts of documentarians, researchers, and practitioners working in Turkey, Jordan, Peru, and Brazil.

With gratitude to the leadership of the program, our funding partners, and the eight outstanding individuals supported by the Felsman Fellowship from 2014-2015, we have preserved this web archive of their work. We also remember J. Kirk Felsman (1950-2011), a longtime Duke faculty member and humanitarian who founded the Hart Fellowship and in whose honor the Felsman Fellowship was named.
